THE PROGRAM...

...consists of two parts:

The first part is a performance of the classical South Indian Dance Bharata Natyam. Several dances with abstract, as well as narrative sequences are shown. The narrative section tells stories of Hindu mythology, explanations are given prior to the dance, thus the audience is able to follow the action.

In the second, musical part, ragas of North India are presented. By melodious blossoming under strictly fixed rules of improvisation, the typical mood of a raga is created, which is interwoven with the typically North Indian rhythm system tala.
